Boca Raton’s go-to for Mercedes-Benz care

A Mercedes is a car built around its own software as much as its own engineering. Service it like a generic sedan and the mechanical work can be perfect while the car still is not right.

European cars are all we work on. Our technicians are ASE-certified, we run XENTRY on the car’s own control units rather than a generic code reader, and we hold the online access these cars need for the coding that comes after the wrench work.

Service A, Service B, and what ASSYST actually wants

Mercedes does not run a fixed mileage schedule. ASSYST counts how the car has actually been driven and asks for Service A or Service B accordingly, and the two are not the same job. We read what the car is asking for, do that work, and reset the indicator properly so the next interval counts from the right place.

Restoring a Mercedes to how it should feel

When something has already gone wrong you get a full digital inspection with photographs, a written estimate that separates parts from labor, and a clear line between what needs doing now and what can wait. Nothing is touched until you approve it.

Common Mercedes-Benz problems we repair

  • Air suspension faults: Airmatic struts that leak down overnight and the compressor that burns out trying to keep up with them.
  • Oil leaks from valve cover gaskets, the oil cooler seals and the rear main, which look alike from above and do not cost alike.
  • Cooling system failures: thermostat housings, water pumps and plastic connectors that go brittle in Florida heat.
  • Transmission complaints on the 722.9 and 9G-Tronic, usually the conductor plate or a valve body long before it is anything worse.
  • Balance shaft and timing wear on the earlier M272 and M273 V6 and V8 engines, confirmed before it is quoted.
  • Electrical and network faults traced across CAN and the fiber-optic ring, to the module actually at fault rather than the one throwing the code.

What a Mercedes-Benz service actually asks for.

Almost nothing that goes wrong with a Mercedes in this shop is exotic. It is a car that was serviced by the book of some other manufacturer, with what was on the shelf, and signed off before the software side of the job was done.

Approval sheets, not viscosities

Mercedes does not approve an oil by weight, it approves it by sheet number. 229.5 and 229.51 are not the same oil and 229.71 on the current M256 is different again. A 5W-30 that meets none of them is still a 5W-30, and it will still pour. It just is not what the engine was designed around, and on a car that stretches its own oil intervals that gap compounds.

The gearbox has two fluids and they do not mix

The 722.9 seven-speed ran red ATF (MB 236.14) up to mid-2010 and blue (MB 236.15) after it, and they are not interchangeable in either direction. The 9G takes its own again. The filter lives in the pan, the level is set at a specified fluid temperature rather than off a dipstick, and getting that temperature wrong is how a gearbox that felt fine comes back three months later feeling anything but.

Half of a Mercedes job is online

Replace an injector, a control unit or a transmission module on a modern Mercedes and it has to be SCN coded through Mercedes’ own servers before the car is finished. It is not optional and it is not something a scan tool does offline. Plenty of shops fit the part, hand the car back and leave the last step undone, and the car drives away with a fault waiting to happen.

We prove the leak before we quote it

Valve cover, oil cooler seals and rear main all present as oil on the underside of a Mercedes, and quoting all three is the lazy way to be right. We degrease, add dye, drive it and look again. That costs us an hour and saves you two gaskets you never needed.

What you’re paying for, line by line

The parts of a Mercedes-Benz service that never appear on an invoice are the ones that decide how the car drives in two years.

Oil spec Whatever 5W-30 was on the shelf

MB 229.5, 229.51 or 229.71, matched to the engine

Diagnosis A generic OBD-II code reader

XENTRY, on the car’s own control units

Coding Part fitted, car handed back

SCN coded online so the new part is actually commissioned

Service interval A blanket every-10,000-miles

Whatever ASSYST is asking for, A or B, then reset properly

Transmission “It never needs doing”

Correct 236.14 red or 236.15 blue ATF, pan filter, level set at temperature

Air suspension Struts replaced, job done

Replaced, then calibrated to ride height so it sits and rides right

Estimate A number said out loud at the counter

Itemized in writing, parts and labor separated, approved line by line

Warranty Twelve months, or none

Six years, unlimited miles, and it transfers if you sell the car

What To Expect

From drop-off to drive-out

Five steps, and you know what you are getting at the end of each one.

01

Book it, or just drop it off

Call, text, or book online. After-hours drop-off if that suits you better, and a free local shuttle so you are not sitting here waiting on us.

02

We read the car, not the symptom

XENTRY on the car’s own control units for stored and intermittent faults, plus a full digital inspection. You get photographs of anything we find, not a description of it.

03

You get it in writing first

An itemized estimate with parts and labor separated, and what can wait flagged separately from what cannot. Nothing is touched until you approve it.

04

The work, to Mercedes-Benz’s procedure

MB-approval fluids, OE or OE-equivalent parts, factory torque sequences, and the SCN coding and resets that actually finish the job.

05

Six years, unlimited miles

Qualifying repairs carry our parts and labor warranty, it transfers if you sell the car, and every visit is logged so the service history stays intact.

What it costs

Mercedes pricing moves with the chassis and the engine far more than most owners expect. An air suspension strut on a W222 S-Class and a coil-sprung C-Class are not the same conversation, and a valve cover on an M276 is not the job it is on an M156. Publishing one number would mean publishing a number that is wrong for most cars.

So we quote the car in front of us: a full digital inspection with photographs of anything we find, then an itemized estimate with parts and labor separated, before anything is touched. Against a dealer quote for the same MB-approved parts, most owners are surprised in the right direction.

How it works

Mercedes-Benz repair FAQs

No. Federal law protects your right to have your car serviced anywhere, provided the work is done correctly and to specification. We use MB-approved fluids and OE or OE-equivalent parts and document every visit, so your factory coverage stays intact and you have the records to prove it.

Yes, both, and we do what the car is actually asking for rather than a generic package. ASSYST tracks how the car has been driven and calls for A or B accordingly. We carry out that service, use the approved fluids, and reset the indicator properly so the next interval starts from the right place.

Yes. We run XENTRY on the car’s own control units, and we hold the online access needed for SCN coding. That matters, because on a modern Mercedes a new injector or control unit is not finished until it has been coded through Mercedes’ servers.

Yes to both. We run a local shuttle so you are not stranded while your car is with us, and there is an after-hours drop-off if your schedule does not line up with ours. Mention it when you book and we will have it ready.

Meaningfully less, on the same approved fluids and the same factory diagnostics, because you are not paying for a dealership’s overhead. You get a written estimate with parts and labor separated before any work starts, so you can compare it against a dealer quote line by line.
