Diagnose the cause before quoting the part. Photograph what we found. Put the estimate in writing with parts and labor separated. Get approval before touching anything. That process was built because European cars punish guesswork hardest, and it is exactly as valuable on a domestic truck. The tooling differs; the standard does not.

Specifications still matter on a domestic engine

It is a common assumption that only European engines are fussy about fluids, and it has not been true for a long time. Modern domestic and Asian engines carry their own oil specifications, their own transmission fluids and their own coolant chemistries, and mixing them is just as expensive. We look up what your vehicle actually calls for rather than reaching for the nearest jug.

That is a practical advantage at the point where you are deciding what to spend and when, and it disappears the moment the fleet is split across two shops.

What it costs

Domestic and import work generally costs less than the European equivalent, because the parts are cheaper and the access is usually kinder. That is a genuine advantage of these vehicles and there is no reason to price them as though it were not true.

We quote the vehicle in front of us, itemized, after diagnosing it. If a repair does not make sense against what the vehicle is worth, you will hear that from us rather than an invoice that assumes otherwise.
